This backpack, with its unconventional diagonal body and flap shape, is chic, sleek, and fun in three vibrant variations that can be knitted and worn over either the right or left shoulder. This felted version is meant to evoke the spunky urban landscape and mix of cultures in world cities. For those who like to keep it simple, there is a plain contrast color flap. The concentric circles of intarsia on the flap of Eye of the Buffalo were originally inspired by a Jasper Johns painting that featured this brilliant combination of gold and turquoise. The bulls eye is finished with optional crimson lines of chain stitch embroidery. The graphic green O that dazzles against a fiery orange background is also knit in simple intarsia ideal for intrepid beginners. The bag with its flap is knit in one piece. The curved strap, which fits the shape of the body beautifully, is knit separately and attached after felting.
